Abstract

The review describes perianalytical systems and various types of automation of preanalytical and postanalytical phases in the work of clinical laboratory. It introduces a complete procedure which can facilitate selection and implementation of perianalytical automation in laboratories. An overview of ide-spread perianalytical systems in the Czech Republic summarizes their characteristics. The advantages of and trends in perianalytical automation in a modern laboratory are shown.
